Peter Kramer/NBCOnly Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon know for sure why their marriage has apparently fallen apart, but while onstage Saturday in Tokyo, Japan, Mariah may have provided a clue as to one reason for their relationship problems.
According to the New York Post, Mariah was singing the song “Don’t Explain,” originally recorded by Billie Holiday, onstage, when she apparently changed some of the lyrics. At about 4:29 into a snippet of audio from the concert posted to YouTube, it sounds as though she’s singing, “And I know you cheated, mother f***er,” instead of the actual line from the song, which is “And I know you cheat/Right or wrong, don’t matter.”
Mariah’s website says that the song “Don’t Explain” is “a personal favorite” of the singer’s.
A source, meanwhile, tells E! that Mariah and Nick’s marriage can’t be saved. “She has made up her mind. She is definitely divorcing him,” claims the insider.
