Iamge Courtesy of LifetimeLifetime has released an extended trailer for Aaliyah: The Princess of R&B, the upcoming made-for-TV movie biopic of the late Aaliyah.
In the minute-long clip, posted on the network’s YouTube page, actress Alexandra Shipp portrays Aaliyah’s during her early rise to fame. The clip features reenactments of the singer’s signature choreography, recording studio scenes and live performances as well as offering a deeper glimpse into her personal life, namely the illegal marriage to R. Kelly, which occurred when she was 15 years old and was later annulled.
“I’m the girl you want to bet on, I succeed at everything I put my mind to,” Shipp says in the clip.
Aaliyah: The Princess of R&B premieres Saturday, November 15 at 8 p.m. ET on Lifetime.
