NARASThe nominees for the 57th Annual Grammy Awards were announced on Friday — with nominations in the Album of the Year category coming later Friday night — and so far, Beyoncé and Sam Smith lead the pack with five nods a piece.
Beyoncé earned nominations in categories including Best R&B Performance, Best R&B Song, Best Surround Sound Album, Best Music Film and, as previously reported, Best Urban Contemporary Album, a category she shares with Jhene Aiko, Chris Brown, Mali Music and Pharrell Williams.
Iggy Azalea and Usher have four nominations each, a distinction they share with four others — country stars Eric Church and Miranda Lambert, rocker Jack White and Australian pop songwriter Sia. As previously reported, Iggy’s nominated for Best New Artist and “Fancy” has been nominated for Record of the Year.
Album of the Year nominees will be revealed during the CBS special A Very Grammy Christmas at 9 p.m. ET.
