Jimmy Fontaine/Atlantic Records; RCA RecordsBeyonce and Jay Z‘s On The Run Tour was arguably the hottest ticket of 2014, but next year looks even more promising. Here’s a round up of several upcoming outings that fans should be on the look out for:
At the beginning of the year, Chris Brown is scheduled to hit the road with Trey Songz for their North American trek, dubbed the Between the Sheets Tour. With Tyga serving as the supporting act, the 25-city joint outing kicks off on January 28, 2015 in the pair’s home state of Virginia. The duo will travel to major arenas, including Brooklyn’s Barclays Center and Atlanta’s Philips Arena, before concluding the tour on March 8 at The Forum in Los Angeles.
While promoting his latest album, Trigga, Trey recently told ABC News Radio why he loves performing so much. “Performing you have a chance to bring the songs that you’ve been harboring and protecting and perfecting for so long to life, you know, especially when performing new songs,” he says.
He continues, “When I wrote ‘Na Na’ I always imagined the crowd singing, ‘Oh yeah, oh yeah.’ I always heard them singing it and that’s the kind of thing that comes with being experienced and actually being on the road, coming back to the studio and seeing crowd reactions. I just love to have that moment with the people where as though they’re singing the song like they wrote it, like they were in the studio, like it was their whole thought process, you know, because we share that moment so intensely.”
In the spring, Trey will only have a few days to relax though, since he’s been tapped to embark on Nicki Minaj‘s international outing, dubbed the The Pinkprint Tour. The duo will begin their trek in Europe starting March 16, 2015 at The Globe in Stockholm, Sweden, making stops in Amsterdam, London, Paris and Dublin before wrapping up April 12 at the Hydro Arena in Glasgow, Scotland.
Elsewhere, Usher, who is still recording his highly anticipated album, UR, is expected to begin the European leg of his UR Experience Tour on February 13 in France and wrap up March 26 in London, England.
European fans can also see D’Angelo with his band The Vanguard on The Second Coming Tour. The legendary singer’s 17-city trek will travel across Europe, beginning February 11 in Zurich, Switzerland and wrapping up March 7 in Brussels, Belgium. Audiences will be treated to new material as well as fresh renditions of classic tunes.
In addition, K. Michelle and Keyshia Cole are planning a joint tour, which will kick off in early 2015. The tour will help support their respective projects — Michelle’s Anybody Wanna Buy a Heart? and Keyshia’s latest album, Point of No Return.
