Tyrese Says Wiz Khalifa's “See You Again” Was “Bound to Be a Hit”

Voltron RecordzWiz Khalifa‘s Furious 7 soundtrack smash “See You Again,” featuring Charlie Puth, has dominated the Billboard Hot 100 for weeks, and Tyrese, who stars in the action flick, isn’t too surprised. The singer recently told ABC Radio why he knew the song would resonate with fans, especially since it’s played in a closing sequence in the film honoring its late co-star, Paul Walker

“It’s a very touching and moving record and I think the timing around the release and the fact that it’s the last song that you hear as Furious 7 goes off, I mean it was bound to be a hit,” Tyrese explained.

The singer continued, “I believe in the marriage of music and art and if you can have a song and the images that are showing up in reflection of the song, that marriage is always a winning combination.”

Wiz remains atop the Billboard Hot 100 for a 10th week. According to the publication, the rapper now joins a short list of  seven rappers with chart-topping hits that have led for double-digit weeks — he joins Eminem, Nelly, Flo Rida, Kanye West, Diddy and the Black Eyed Peas.
