Rihanna, Kendrick Lamar & Usher to Perform at 2016 Global Citizen Festival

ABC/Lou RoccoNew York’s Central Park will host rock, R&B, rap, EDM and metal this September, as the Global Citizen Festival returns for its fifth year this September.

The free-ticketed festival will feature headline performances by Rihanna and Kendrick Lamar, as well as a guest performance from Usher.  Also on the bill: Selena Gomez, Ellie Goulding, Major Lazer, Metallica, Coldplay‘s Chris Martin, Pearl Jam‘s Eddie Vedder and Yusuf, formerly known as Cat Stevens.

Usher appeared at all three of the Global Citizen organization’s major events last year: the Global Citizen Festival, Global Citizen Earth Day in Washington, D.C. and the United Against Poverty event in Munich, Germany.

Martin and Coldplay headlined last year’s festival, and Vedder also appeared last year, singing Bob Marley’s “Redemption Song” with Beyonce.

Chelsea Handler, Hugh Jackman, Neil Patrick Harris, Quantico star Priyanka Chopra, Salma Hayek and Seth Meyers will host the proceedings, which take place on September 24.
