RCA RecordsGreat Gatsby director Baz Luhrmann‘s Netflix drama about the early days of hip-hop, The Get Down, is getting a star-studded soundtrack.
Miguel will join the show’s executive producer, Nas, who wrote all the lyrics for the show’s 1970s and ’80s style rhymes, on a soundtrack that also will feature Chic‘s Nile Rodgers, retro soul singer Leon Bridges, big name pop singers like Christina Aguilera and Zayn, cast members like Jaden Smith and of course old school hip-hop stars like Grandmaster Flash.
Additional artists and a full track listing are set to be announced later, but the soundtrack is due to be released August 12 via Apple Music, the same day that the first six episodes of The Get Down‘s 12-episode season hit Netflix.
