Will Beyoncé Take Emmy Glory Away from Amy Schumer?

Robin Harper; ABC/Ida Mae AstuteBeyoncé has a red-hot career, beautiful baby daughter and one of the most successful rap artists in music history for a hubby. Her visual album, Lemonade, is also nominated for four Emmy awards, which has given actress and comedian Amy Schumer less than zero hope in being able to win the an Emmy in the same category, Outstanding Directing in a Variety Series.

“I was so excited, so excited that my special, my HBO special was nominated,” Schumer said on Tuesday’s Good Morning America. “Chris Rock directed it, so proud. We were both so excited and then, I look at who else is nominated….Beyoncé, for Lemonade.”

Schumer thinks that’s effectively torpedoed her chances of winning, but she doesn’t seem too upset.  “I’m just going to go and have fun and I hope she goes and then we get to hear her make a speech, but you know, that’s it,” she said.  “I’m excited I’m nominated, but I’m not writing a speech.”

The 68th Annual Emmy Awards will air live on ABC September 18 at 7 p.m. ET.
