Dennis LeupoldTinashe‘s long-awaited sophomore album, Joyride, is still in the works — but the artist has kept busy, having issued several singles from the LP, “Superlove” and the recently released “Company.”
Tinashe explains to ABC Radio that her new music reflects personal artistic progression.
“I think as an artist, there’s always a natural evolution, especially when you go through new experiences. I’ve traveled a lot around the world and seen a lot of new things, and feel like that’s really had an impact on the music,” she says.
“So it’s definitely evolved, but I feel like it’s still rooted in the same place, and you’ll definitely hear a lot of familiar elements,” she adds.
And now as a veteran artist, Tinashe says she’s learned to embrace the twists and turns of the business.
“I think the music industry is always changing and evolving and that’s what makes it such a difficult…business to navigate, because with streaming and with the internet and with all of these new innovations, how people are releasing content, I think it’s just really inspiring and makes you really think outside the box,” she says.
Fans may also be excited to hear that the entertainer, who once appeared on the hit television seriesTwo and a Half Men, would like to return to acting in the future.
“I’d like to in the future. I have obviously been focused on music and getting this album out right now, but I hope soon to make that transition at some point,” she says.
