“EW”'s Best Albums of 2016 Include Beyoncé's “Lemonade” and Rihanna's “ANTI”

Parkwood/ColumbiaEntertainment Weekly’s annual round up of the Best and Worst in Entertainment hits newsstands tomorrow and includes a list of the best albums of 2016.

Topping the list is, unsurprisingly, Beyoncé‘s tour de force album Lemonade, which EW says “snapped us out of mourning [following the recent death of music icon Prince] with a feature-length visual album that touched on practically every corner of popular music — including rock, country, and reggae — while [it] spilled a juicy tale of infidelity that left some wondering if she was surprise-releasing divorce papers, too.”

Coming in at #4 is Rihanna‘s ANTI, which introduced the “longest-running No.1” song of the artist’s career, “Work.”

Relative newcomers Chance the Rapper and Anderson .Paak also made the list at #7 and #9, respectively.

Chance’s mixtape album, Coloring Book, helped elevate the musician to superstardom — and seven 2017 Grammy nominations.

Anderson .Paak’s Malibu, described by the magazine as a “mix of old-school R&B, trippy neo-soul, and gospel infused earworms,” gave the West Coast artist much acclaim and two 2017 Grammy nominations as well, including one for Best New Artist.
