Janelle Monáe and Maxwell Scheduled to Perform at Women's March on Washington Event

Image Group LA/ABCHidden Figures and Moonlight star Janelle Monáe and Maxwell will both perform at the Women’s March on Washington in the nation’s capital on January 21, during President-elect Donald Trump‘s inauguration weekend.  

Additional performers include Angelique KidjoMC LyteDJ Rekha and Beverly Bond

A sizeable list of artists such as Questlove, Rakim and TV on the Radio are among those who have signed up to join the march’s Artist Table of individuals “committed to the mission, vision, and the Unity Principles of the Women’s March on Washington.”  

In an official statement, Janelle says, “I am honored to join this critical movement to bring justice and quality to all. Music has always been a powerful took for galvanizing unity and I believe that singing and standing together, our voices will be stronger than any force that tries to repress us.” 

The Women’s March on Washington is a women-led grassroots movement created to take a stand on a variety of social justice and human rights issues.
