Getty Images via ABCIn this year’s March issue of Glamour magazine, Ciara reveals some of her beauty tips and secrets, such as which lotions help to keep her skin moisturized and her commitment to drinking “tons of water.”

However, the new Revlon ambassador remembers her biggest beauty regrets over the years.

“When I was younger, I definitely had some questionable beauty moments. I used to wear these superlong spider eyelashes, then I would apply my eyeshadow all the way to the brow bone. Like what was that, you know?” she tells the publication.

“I think I learned that not everything works on me. That was pretty cringeworthy,” she adds.

Still, the “I Bet” singer’s believes that people these days are more apt to love their flaws, rather than hide them with makeup or other beauty products.

“I really feel that we are in this time of realness. Flaws are embraced rather than frowned upon. Sometimes it gets too real too. As I got older, I learned to embrace those unique things. The insecurities don’t go away, you know, but when you’re a young woman, you’re still discovering your body and yourself and your world,” she says.

“Now I’m like, You know what, I am who I am, take it or leave it, but I’m good with me. I think showing your individuality is very important.”
