Fantasia cancels Memphis concert appearance due to second-degree burns

ABC/Fred WatkinsFantasia‘s Sunday performance at the FedEx Forum in Memphis, TN was unfortunately cancelled due to “unexpected health issues,” according to the singer’s Instagram account.

It was later revealed to fans that the reason for the scrapped show was an accident that caused second degree burns on Fantasia’s arm.

Tasia’s husband Kendall Taylor revealed more information in a second Instagram picture showing the entertainer in a hospital bed with her arm wrapped in bandages.

In the caption,  he wrote, “She’s steady asking the Doc ‘Can I perform tonight?’ But we must be wise and realize this isn’t a race, but rather a marathon. So Memphis, our team is already working to create a means that she can redeem this time with you. Please, keep my Queen lifted in prayer, asking our God to heal her rapidly with no last negative affects.”

“Fantasia lives and breathes to sing and perform, and hates disappointing her fans. Our sincerest apologies to the city of Memphis,” the first Instagram message stated.

Fantasia is currently on the road with Johnny Gill and Charlie Wilson on Wilson’s In It to Win It Tour.
