True to self & his fans, Bryson Tiller says his manager encouraged early release of sophomore album

RoleXXBryson Tiller‘s sophomore studio project, True to Self, was scheduled to arrive June 23, but last Friday, the recording artist released the album to the complete surprise of his fans, which the singer reveals to Billboard was actually his manager’s idea.

“I can’t take the credit for that,” Bryson explains. “It was his plan [to] drop it a month early. I’ve been ready to get the music to the fans as soon as possible, so why not?”

Bryson adds that he’s also changed a lot since the release of his debut album, Trapsoul, particularly when it comes to how he communicates with others.

He says, “I talk to people now. Even when people come to my shows — celebrities or people who work in the industry — I’m more talkative rather than being so shy and to myself.”

The “Sorry Not Sorry” star also tells the publication that he’s adopted a healthier lifestyle: “I’m in the gym more. Eating better. This year, I’m drinking green smoothies. Two years ago, if you had passed me a green smoothie, I’d be like, ‘Get that outta my face!'”

True to Self is available now at all the usual digital outlets.
