Nabil ElderkinThe Weeknd‘s trippy visual for his song “Secrets” starts off with a woman running as the camera spins, making her appear to run upside-down, before the camera cuts to another scene of her appearing to float in mid-air, as men in glass elevators slowly descend behind her.
That’s pretty much the tone throughout the Pedro Martin-Calero-directed visual, as The Weeknd himself hovers around corners, on balconies, or several feet behind the mystery woman, who’s in the arms of another lover, portrayed by R&B singer Black Atlass.
The song’s chorus also incorporates lyrics from the 1983 hit single “Talking in Your Sleep,” by The Romantics.
“Secrets,” is the latest single from Weeknd’s 2016 album, Starboy.
He’s currently on the road for his Starboy: Legend of the Fall tour and announced over the weekend via Twitter that phase one of the tour is “officially over,” with phase two “coming soon.”
The Weeknd’s next tour stop is scheduled for June 15 in Dover, DE.
