Rihanna hails from Barbados, and has used her stardom and platform to support worldwide humanitarian efforts. As a result, the Barbadian government will honor the pop star by renaming a road after her in the neighborhood she was raised in. On Independence Day, 30th November, 2017, The Government of Barbados will officially change the name of Westbury New Road located in St. Michael to Rihanna Drive in honor of Barbadian superstar Ms. Robyn Rihanna Fenty who grew up in Westbury New Road.” The singer will be present for the ceremony.
