Ciara says she was “clapping my hands” after Christina Aguilera's AMA performance

ABC/Image Group LACiara is a lover, not a hater.

The “Goodies” artist came to her own defense Monday after claims from some fans on social media that she didn’t look too pleased with Christina Aguilera‘s Whitney Houston tribute during the American Music Awards Sunday.

Ciara tweets, “Sadly, people relish in negativity.

You are correct about the words I said as I was standing clapping my hands after Christina’s performance.

She’s one of the best singers of our time. #SpreadLove #AMAs.”

Singer-songwriter Pink also got slammed on social media for her facial expression in response Christina’s performance, which at times looked pained.

Pink responded on her Twitter, “Christina f****** killed it tonight for one of our favorite singers ever. This about Whitney, and I am in awe of Christina’s talent. Show the clip where I’m in tears, you negative Nancy’s.”

You can watch Christina’s AMA performance on YouTube to see everyone’s reaction.
