Did Chanté Moore use fraudulent funds to produce her newest album?

Ra-Fael BlancoChanté Moore is allegedly in hot water for accepting cash that was “fraudulently obtained by a criminal enterprise” in order to produce her newest album, The Rise of the Phoenix.

That’s according to The Blast, which claims the singer got involved in a “complicated fraud and racketeering case,” in which two men allege that the singer “defrauded” them out of $3.6 million.

The unidentified men also claim that Moore used the money they gave her to “open a hair bar in Georgia, buy a house, and support [her] career.”

In addition, the men state in a lawsuit they’ve filed against Moore that they bought her gifts and plane tickets for her tour, and helped “fund the production of and marketing campaign for” The Rise of the Phoenix.

They also claimed they paid off her “significant personal debt.”

In addition, the two men claim that Moore knew the money was obtained illegally, and that she knew that their investment in her career was a money-laundering scheme.

The Blast adds that the plaintiffs believe they should receive any profits made from sales of her album, considering the fact that they basically financed the entire project.

Moore has reportedly denied the allegations and has asked for the case to be thrown out. A ruling has yet to be made by a judge.
