SZA 'CRTL' album certified platinum

ABC/Paula LoboSZA’s debut album CRTL was finally released in 2017 after a two year delay, and now she can enjoy that it has been certified platinum.

Her label Too Dawg Entertainment label tweeted, “Everyone congratulate the queen @SZA! Her debut album #Ctrl is now certified PLATINUM by the @RIAA!

Two singles from the album have been certified double platinum “Love Galore” and “The Weekend,” and two singles are certified gold, “Broken Clocks” and “Garden.”

Top Dawg Entertainment co-president Terrence “Punch” Henderson also congratulated SZA and her team, tweeting, “Very proud of the work we did on the Ctrl album. You guys went out and supported! And it’s still going! Thank you!”

CRTL earned five Grammy nominations, and SZA won two Soul Train Music Awards: Best New Artist and Best R&B/Soul Female Artist.

SZA appears on the cover of the new spring issue of The Fader, and she says she is grateful for the success of the album. However, she believes she has much room for improvement.

“I’m thankful that people don’t think it sucks, but I’m gonna have to achieve a 10 in my brain,” she says.
