ABC/Paula LoboIt appears that John Legend can relate to bride-to-be and future royale Meghan Markle‘s family drama.
In a response to a fan who tweeted Thursday, “Be honest: if you were about to marry into royalty, would your family somehow manage to show their a** and embarass you? Show of hands,” John writes, “I had a cousin try to raffle off tickets to have ‘Christmas Dinner with John Legend.’ So, yes.”
Perhaps John’s admission will lead to some future tea dates with Markle, her fiancé Prince Harry, and the Queen.
Meghan’s public family issues in the months leading up to her nuptials have ranged from her half-siblings, Samantha and Thomas Markle Jr., allegedly not being invited to the Royal Wedding, to her dad Thomas Markle being unable to walk his daughter down the wedding aisle due to reportedly needing heart surgery.
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are set to marry Saturday at St. George’s Chapel in the southeastern English town of Windsor.
The highly anticipated event will air on ABC starting at 5 a.m. ET.
