ABC/Randy HolmesAfter dropping two new tropical songs on Wednesday, “Summertime Magic,” and “Feels Like Summer,” Childish Gambino has announced five “Summertime Starts Here” events taking place this weekend in New York City, Los Angeles and London
The first event kicked off Friday afternoon in Union Square Park in Manhattan. Gambino’s new jams played on speakers in the park, while everyone was treated to free ice cream, according to the Brooklyn Vegan. There will be a second New York City event Saturday beginning at noon in Brooklyn’s Fort Greene Park.
Two “Summer Starts Here” events are being held in LA: Saturday at the Santa Monica Pier beginning at noon, and Sunday at noon at Fairfax High School. The London experience will run from 1 p.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday at Gunnersby Park.
Childish will kick off his “This Is America” tour, featuring Rae Sremmurd and Vince Staples, on September 6 in Duluth, Georgia. He will perform 22 shows through October 26, wrapping things up with a concert in New Orleans.
