Police Arrest 2 In Shooting Involving Rapper Tekashi69

Two men were arrested Saturday in a shooting involving rapper Tekashi69’s entourage in front of a Manhattan restaurant. According to the NYPD, Zachary Bunce, of Wyandanch, New York and Faheem Walter, of Manhattan, were each charged with gang assault. The shooting happened Friday night as rapper Tekashi69 or 6ix9ine (real name Daniel Hernandez) and a group including Bunce and Walter were trying to enter Philippe Chow on the Upper East Side. After they were turned away, police say the suspects returned and hit an armed private security guard with chair. They said the guard shot Walter, who was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries. The rapper had been at the restaurant earlier Friday celebrating after getting probation in a child sex case he was involved in, where a judge ordered 6ix9ine to serve four years probation and 1,000 hours of community service for violating the terms of a plea agreement stemming from his 2015 arrest for the use of a child in a sexual performance.
