Nicki Minaj Becomes First Female Rapper To Top 100 Million Sales

Nicki Minaj has joined fellow ladies Rihanna, Taylor Swift and Katy Perry in topping 100 million RIAA certified units in her career, becoming the first female rapper ever to do so. This total comprises not only Minaj’s solo work, it also includes her collaborations with other artists. Minaj wrote on her Instagram: “Couple more blessings every time we pray – can’t thank you enough for your continued support.” 

Minaj topped the landmark after her ‘Rack It Up’ collaboration with Yo Gotti advanced from 2x to 3x platinum recently, reports Chart Data. Below is a look at the totals from the top certified female artists: 

1. Rihanna 198 million units (22.5 million of which are albums)
2. Taylor Swift 169.5 million units (43 million of which are albums)
3. Katy Perry 108 million units (6 million of which are albums)
4. Nicki Minaj 100 million units (8.5 million of which are albums)
5. Mariah Carey 90 million units (66 million of which are albums)
