Courtesy of WeTVWaka Flocka and his wife Tammy Rivera are set to renew their vows in front of family and friends tonight in the second part of the WeTV special Waka & Tammy Tie the Knot. Waka explains that the special was extremely eye-opening for his family, specifically his mother and manager Debra Antney, who rarely shows emotion.
“I actually got the sensitive side out of my mother,” Waka tells ABC Radio. “She never, ever be sensitive, ever…like ever.”
In fact, Waka says that when his mother became emotional, he initially thought she was simply putting on an act for the reality show cameras.
“I thought she was, like, capping for a camera and.. I’m like, ‘What are you doing? Are ya’ll serious?'” he continues. “Then she really like — constantly at different times of the day– talk[ed] about it. You be like, ‘Yo, you serious?’ She’s like, ‘Yes Waka, I’m dead serious.’ I’m like, ‘Debra is sensitive. Wow. This is great.'”
Waka Flocka fans known Mrs. Antney as a staple in the rapper’s life and career. He says he’s proud of the relationship they have, and happy that she was quick to accept his wife Tammy.
“Me and my mother relationship is dope man,” he says. “She’s like a sister-mom. You know what I’m saying? Like, she’s always like a big sister and a mother. So that was just perfect. And just to see how she accept Tammy like her own.”
“Lord knows I don’t want my mother [and] my wife beefing,” he adds. “Oh my God. It has happened!”
