Rihanna Reveals Hew New Music Will Be A Reggae Album

In an interview with New York Times Magazine, Rihanna confirms that she’s working on a reggae album, which would be her ninth studio album. Rihanna also denied rumors of collaborations with Lady Gaga and past collaborator Drake. Rihanna said of speculation that Gaga would be on the new album: “It’s not in the books right now, but I’m not against it.”

Rihanna says the album doesn’t have a title yet, with no titles under consideration, adding: “so far it’s just been R9, thanks to the Navy. I’m about to call it that probably, ’cause they have haunted me with this ‘R9, R9, when is R9 coming out?’ How will I accept another name after that’s been burned into my skull?”

Rihanna has been busy with her Fenty Beauty empire and clothing line. Her last album was 2016’s “Anti,” and was featured on Kendrick Lamar’s 2017 single “Loyalty.”
