Following the Jussie Smollett scandal, another Empire star is in trouble with the law.

Chicago’s WLS-TV confirms that Bryshere Y. Gray, who portrays Hakeem Lyon in the series, was arrested Thursday in Chicago for driving his Rolls Royce without a license, registration, or insurance.

Gray was booked on a misdemeanor, issued tickets for driving an uninsured motor vehicle and failing to carry a driver’s license, and released. He’s due back in court July 18.

In addition to his role in Empire, Gray also portrayed Michael Bivens in the 2017 New Edition BET miniseries.

Fox announced last month that the upcoming sixth season of Empire would be its last, and that Smollett would not return for the final season.Earlier this year, the actor was charged with 16 counts of disorderly conduct for allegedly paying two men to stage an attack on him. Those charges were eventually dropped.
