Watch: First looks at 'Queen & Slim'; 'Black And Blue'

Rodin Eckenroth/WireImageDuring Sunday night’s BET Awards, the network offered fans a first look at two upcoming highly anticipated films.

The first, produced by Lena Waithe, was Queen & Slim, starring Daniel Kaluuya and Jodie Turner-Smith as a new couple who go on the run after a minor traffic infraction turns deadly.

In the trailer, Kaluuya and Turner-Smith are seen on their first date. After they seemingly hit it off, the couple is pulled over by a short tempered cop, who asks Kaluuya to get out of his car. When he does, things go awry and Kaluuya shoots the officer in self defense.

“What do you want?” says Turner-Smith to Kaluuya in the promo.

“I want to ride or die,” Kaluuya responds.

The film also stars Chloe SevignyIndya Moore, Bokeem Woodbine and Jahi Winston.

Queen & Slim is the feature debut for Melina Matsoukas, an acclaimed music video director who’s worked with the likes of Rihanna and Beyoncé.

Meanwhile, Tyrese Gibson and Naomi Harris are on the run from cops for a totally different reason.

In the trailer for their new film, Black And Blue, Harris plays a rookie cop who unknowingly captures footage on her body cam of an officer murdering a young drug dealer. After the same cops try to kill her, Harris enlists a friend from the neighborhood, played by Gibson, to help her.

“You can’t be in here with this. The police– they’ll help you,” says Gibson in the promo.

“It was the cops that shot me,” responds Harris.

The film, directed by Deon Taylor, also stars Nafessa Williams and Mike Colter.

Queen & Slim hits theaters on November 27. A release date has not yet been announced for Black And Blue.
