Disney’s The Lion King dominated the box office over the weekend, opening with $185 million.  Two of the film’s youngest stars , JD McCrary and Shahadi Wright Joseph, are opening up about their life, now that the blockbuster has hit theaters.

McCrary, who earlier this year starred opposite Marsai Martin in Little, says being a part of this massive film as young Simba will undoubtedly be life-changing for him.

“I think my life is going to alter just a little bit, because I’m in such a huge movie,” McCrary tells ABC Radio. “I’m not saying this to be cocky or anything, I just think that it’s going to be a little different now that I’m in this movie and it’s out and stuff like that.”

The young actor clarifies, “I don’t think I’m going to change, but I think I’m going to have to do a lot more interviews, be in a lot more shows — stuff like that. You know, I’m here for the ride and I think the journey’s going to be pretty cool.”

On the other hand, JD’s co-star, Shahadi, who voices young Nala — and recently stared in Jordan Peele‘s mind-bending hit horror film, Us — doesn’t foresee a big change happening now that The Lion King is out.

“I’m pretty sure everything is like going to go back to normal,” she says. “I mean, I’m already home now. So I’m good.”

Disney’s The Lion King, also starring Beyoncé Knowles-Carter and Donald Glover, is now in theaters.
