TLC, Nelly and Flo Rida are bringing the nostalgia all summer long with their co-headlining tour.
Set to kick off tonight in Alabama, the trio of hitmakers are teaming up for a cross-country trek that spans the next five weeks. Ahead of the extensive run, the artists spoke exclusively with ABC Radio about what fans can look forward to the most.
“It’s a straight party! I mean, high energy, all this dancing!,” TLC’s T-Boz declared. “Hit after hit after hit. Where do you have a concert where all three artists are playing nothing but hits?”
Between all three acts, the number of platinum-selling records is impressive. For TLC, that journey encompasses immortal anthems such “Creep” and “Waterfalls.”
“We’re very blessed to have a catalog where each of our songs — and it doesn’t matter which one it is — it means something to so many people, at different stages in their life, whatever they were going through,” Chilli told ABC.
She continued, “So it’s kind of like, you know, coming to see us, we’ll take you down that memory lane: whether it’s a teary-eyed moment or happy jumping up and down.”
For Nelly, he’s leaving it to the fans to decide which of his chart-topping songs deserves an encore. While the Country Grammar lyricist has lots of hits to choose from, including “Country Grammar” and “Hot in Herre,” he simply can’t decide which will be his favorite to perform on the road.
“I think different songs take different shapes in different cities and things of that nature,” Nelly explained. “You just go and put together the best show that you can and if they ride with you they gonna ride.”
