Gregg DeGuire/WireImageBridget Kelly is ready to turn up the heat this summer with the release of her forthcoming EP, The Great Escape.
Wednesday, the Grammy-winning songwriter shared with fans on Instagram the title as well as release date for the impending project. Due to arrive on August 16, The Great Escape will serve as the first release under Kelly’s independent label, Hazmat33, which she launched back in June.
Along with the announcement, Kelly teased the EP’s lead single “Lucky You,” a hypnotic record that’s complemented by uptempo production and snappy 808s. The remainder of the The Great Escape will consist of records inspired by Kelly’s frequent globe-trotting, including her brief time in Europe.
The Great Escape is a follow-up to the singer’s debut album Reality Bites, which she dropped off last spring.
