Aaron Poole/E! EntertainmentNeNe Leakes is setting the record straight. After a report claimed she “exploded” over her Real Housewives of Atlanta co-star Cynthia Bailey‘s engagement, Leakes is telling fans the entire story was fabricated.
“Number 1, WHY would i explode? WHY?,” Leakes asked, sharing the headline of the report on Instagram. “Chile I don’t want high blood pressure. Number 2, i sent @cynthiabailey10 the nite of her engagement a beautiful gift and card. I couldn’t be happier for her finding love again.”
The reality star then called out the publication spreading the rumor, saying it needs to focus on more important things.
“Number 3 @radaronline and all the others who continue to pick this up, post, write trying to diminish/damage my character should try using their time in a more productive way like donating to @americancancersociety.
“The Lies The Lies The Lies in @kandi voice,” she added, quoting her other RHOA castmate, Kandi Burruss.
As previously reported, Cynthia Bailey got engaged to her longtime boyfriend, sports reporter Mike Hill, over the weekend during the launch of Bailey’s wine bar, The Bailey Wine Cellar. The private event was attended by Bailey’s daughter Noelle Robinson and Hill’s two daughters, Kayla and Ashlee. Also in attendance were some of the couple’s closest friends, as well as Bailey’s RHOA cast mates.
This will be the second marriage for both Bailey and Hill. Bailey was previously married to Peter Thomas from 2010 to 2017.
The event and proposal will undoubtedly be featured on the upcoming season of The Real Housewives of Atlanta, which is set to return later this year.
