At MTV VMAs, Lizzo reveals what was in her bottle; DJ Khaled's just “grateful” for Nipsey Hussle collabo

Mike Coppola/Getty Images for MTVOne of the standout performances from last night’s MTV VMAs came from Lizzo, who, before she performed “Good as Hell,” was seen swigging from a bottle onstage.  So what was in there, anyway?

“This is a bottle of tequila,” the “Truth Hurts” star told Entertainment Tonight afterwards. “Now here’s the tea: I wasn’t allowed to have a full bottle of tequila, so we had one shot [in here.] And I took the whole shot on accident right before my speech. So I was lit!”

She laughed, “Whatever I said, I don’t remember!”

Well, let us refresh your memory, Lizzo: You said, “I’m tired of the bulls**t and I don’t have to know your story to know that you are tired of the bulls**t too. It’s so hard trying to love yourself in a world that doesn’t love you back. So I want to take this opportunity to just feel good as hell because you deserve to feel good as hell!

Also last night, DJ Khaled was nominated for Best Hip Hop at last night’s MTV Video Music Awards for “Higher,” his collaboration with John Legend and the late Nipsey Hussle. But even though he lost out to Cardi B, he says he’s just happy he got to make a record with the late rapper.

Speaking to Entertainment Tonight backstage, Khaled said, “First of all, the marathon continues. Long live Nip. Just to be nominated for ‘Higher,’ I appreciate it.”

“I told Nip when we were making the record, ‘We gonna get some awards. We gonna get nominated,'” Khaled added. “I’m just grateful for the nomination and grateful to work with the king, Nip.”

In March, Hussle was shot and killed outside his clothing store in L.A.  He was 33.
