NBATwo of Chicago’s finest will perform at the 2020 NBA All-Star Game in the Windy City.
Common and Chance The Rapper, who were both born in Chi-Town, will headline the entertainment at the game on February 16 at the United Center. The all-star weekend will be a family affair for Chance: his brother, Taylor Bennett, will perform at the NBA Rising Stars game on February 14. The brothers will also serve as the official 2020 All-Star ambassadors.
Common will open the show with a rap about Chicago’s rich basketball legacy, which of course features six Chicago Bulls championship teams led by Michael Jordan. Common will also introduce the players.
Common prides himself on his hoop skills, and he portrayed an NBA star in the 2010 film Just Wright co-starring Sanaa Lathan, Queen Latifah and Paula Patton.
Chance, who like Common is a three-time Grammy winner, will perform at the NBA All-Star Game halftime with special surprise guests. Thursday night, he hosted his third annual Night at the Museum charity party at Chicago’s Museum of Science and Industry. The event also served as a donation hub for clothes and other Christmas gifts for Chicago’s homeless.
