Rihanna covers and curates i-D magazine 40th anniversary issue

ABC/Lou RoccoRihanna is spotlighting cultural leaders who are reshaping the world in the 40th anniversary issue of i-D Magazine.

RiRi is the on the cover and also curates the new edition, which, according to the publication, “champions the people reshaping wider culture across the worlds of fashion, art, cinema, music and activism.”

“For me, this very special issue of i-D represents change and culture,” Rihanna says of the project. “It is dedicated to some of the people who are progressively reshaping the communities across fashion, music, art and activism — creating a more inclusive and diverse future.”

Among the cultural leaders the Fenty Beauty CEO features in the issue is WNBA star Skylar Diggins-Smith, rapper Young M.A., and writer/producer Lena Waithe.

“Professional success is about having the freedom to tell stories the way I see fit, and having the power to make art that is not put through a filter,” Waithe says in the magazine. ”So some of my most successful moments were the moments where I was writing scripts without any interference. I did that with the pilot of The Chi, and I did that with Queen & Slim.

The “Rihannazine” 40th anniversary print edition of i-D magazine, which ships January 27, is now available for pre-order on the magazine’s website.
