During an interview with Genius’ For The Record, group member Jadakiss confirmed Styles P did diss Jay-Z on his own song, even though Styles called it a “friendly fire.”
“I don’t give a f*** who you are, so f*** who you are/I don’t care about a pretty b****, watch or a car/I don’t care about your block and whoever you shot/I don’t care about your album and whenever it drop/I don’t care about your past if I did I woulda asked,” he raps.
From the 90’s rap era “where ya bars mattered and counted,” Styles P detailed the frustrating events of that day, having to immediately go to the studio at Jay’s request, upon landing from a vacation. With luggage still in their hands, the group, already on edge, made their way to the studio.
“Everybody got to lay their verse except me and Jay, so I was tight at the hold thing. I never got to drop my luggage off,” he said. “Everybody was going to the club and this and that, so yea I kind of had a chip.”
Over the years, Styles and Jay have formed a close friendship involving grown man talks. From the era “where ya bars mattered and counted,” the competitive MC says its all love for his big bro. “Yea that’s the big bro it’s all love, that’s big homie man.”
