Meek Mill Shares New Song “Otherside Of America”

Meek Mill has released a new song titled “Otherside of America.” On the track, Meek addresses inequality and racism in the United States. “Otherside of America” opens with comments that Donald Trump made about the Black community at an August 2016 rally in a predominantly white Michigan suburb. The song closes with an excerpt from Meek Mill’s 2018 conversation on CNN with Michael Smerconish. “I grew up in America in a ruthless neighborhood where we are not protected by police,” Meek told Smerconish.

Meek Mill is an outspoken advocate for criminal justice reform. In 2019, he co-founded the REFORM Alliance with JAY-Z, Van Jones, and others. He’s also advocated for reform in the probation and parole system of his home state of Pennsylvania.
