Tyrese celebrates mother’s sobriety by giving her a new house

Image Group LA/ABCChristmas has come early for Tyrese‘s mom. The Fast and Furious star surprised her with a new house to celebrate her sobriety.

“My mother has been sober for 11 years. Thank you father God,” he says in an Instagram video. He also admitted he had been carrying “anger and resentment” for her “27 years of alcohol abuse.” In a post, he commented that her condition “killed” his childhood.

Tyrese praised God for his mother, Priscilla Murray Gibson, turning her life around, writing, “That was a women under the ‘influence’…. The mother that I know that raised me before the drinking started was always in church, always sweet to everyone, always giving, and in most cases giving to those who in my opinion didn’t deserve it…… So blessed to know that this same JESUS brought me my mother back…. alcohol took you away from me for 27 years…… 11 years later I trust you with me again.”

Standing in front of the five-bedroom house, Tyrese said,”This is the reason we work as hard as we do.”
