Pharrell Williams of N.E.R.D.; ABC/Adam RoseN.E.R.D. follows up their “Lemon” music video with a politically-charged visual for their song “1000.”
In the clip, the group and featured artist Future are heard, but not seen.
The five-minute video begins with the disclaimer, “N*E*R*D and Columbia Records do not support or condone violence in any shape or form. We only have Internet access.”
The video then goes right into a series of images showing real-life news footage of past riots, rallies and police brutality in America.
A vintage speech from former professional boxer Mike Tyson is also heard in the video, before dancer Mette Towley and backup performers dive into a choreographed dance.
N.E.R.D. is comprised of Pharrell Williams, Chad Hugo and Shay Haley.
Their forthcoming album, NO_ONE EVER REALLY DIES, is available for pre-order now and set for release December 15.
