NARASMarsha Ambrosius, Jhene Aiko, and Ledisi are among the nominees for the 57th Annual Grammy Awards, which were announced on Friday. All three R&B singers have taken to social media to acknowledge their respective nods.
Marsha, whose duet with Anthony Hamilton is up for the Best Traditional R&B Performance, posted a lengthy message via Instagram, in which she expressed her gratitude.
“GRAMMY NOMINATED ?? I woke up to a text saying ‘Congrats on your Grammy nod!’ I was half asleep when I read it. Then it hit me! It is that time of year! They were to be announced soon so… My reply was ‘For real?! I just woke up!’ And there it was,” she wrote. “For the song that has meant the world to me MY WHOLE LIFE! ‘As’ For the song that when 99.9% of the people that heard this version, were crying their eyes out in one of the most heart breaking scenes in The Best Man Holiday!“
A seemingly speechless Jhene tweeted to her 710,000 followers: “Woah. Thank you for the consideration!” She’s scored two nods, including Best R&B Song for “The Worst.”
“Wow….another @TheGRAMMYs nomination speechless.Thank You! Congrats to all the nominees.Wow….God Bless.” Ledisi tweeted, who is nominated for Best R&B Performance for “Like This.”
The 57th Annual Grammy Awards will be held on February 8, 2015 at Staples Center in Los Angeles.
