Towanda Braxton breaks down the challenges of working with family on “Braxton Family Values”

Courtesy of WeTVEvery Thursday night on WeTV, fans get an up-close-and-personal look at the Braxton family drama via their hit reality series Braxton Family Values.

While the close knit family of sisters Traci, Trina, Toni, Tamar and Towanda Braxton enjoy entertaining viewers with their hilarious, emotional, and downright mischievous antics every week, Towanda tells ABC Radio that being on a reality series with your family is definitely not all fun and games.

“What happens is– we’re not just to put together a show,” Towanda says. “So, whatever happens on camera we have to take it home with us– and we have to deal with it.”

According to Towanda, one of the most challenging aspects of doing reality TV is actually just watching yourself and some of your cringe-worthy behavior play out on screen.

“I think that’s one thing that the show has forced us to do because we have to watch ourselves too,” she adds.

However, the singer admits that working with family is not all bad, as long as you learn from the experience.

“It’s a blessing to be able to work with your family,” she says. “You know, it’s a blessing and a curse. But you have to grow from it. And I think that another thing is not walking in shame.”

Braxton Family Values airs Thursday nights at 9 p.m. ET on WeTV.
