Omari Hardwick says his role on “Power” was a result of his wife's prayers

ABC/Fred LeeOmari Hardwick says he has to give credit to his wife, Jennifer, for his longstanding role on the hit crime drama Power.

In a lengthy Instagram post, Hardwick shared a photo of himself and his wife from the Power premiere in New York last week with the message “Powered by God.”

“& so she prayed,” Hardwick wrote, captioning his message. “She prayed that this man accept his star. & UNAPOLOGETICALLY… [She] asked that God allow this man (me) to embrace my dominion over my walk within this industry.”

“You prayed that I’d embrace the power that you believed awaited, but that you knew i was apologetically born with already,” he continued. “You & The Big Man up top must have a cool shorthand between one another because those prayers of yours were answered very shortly after… Mine came in the form of a job with that title. #Power.”

Jennifer responded to her hubby’s post with a heartfelt message of her own.

“Me and God agreed that your talent and soul’s brilliance were too big to keep hidden or relegated! Some spirits should never be contained…yours is one,” she wrote in his comments. “Thank you for always hearing me with your spirit. You amaze me @omarihardwickofficial.”

Hardwick, who married his wife in 2012, share two children together: a daughter named Nova and a son named Brave.
