Omarion Says “Post to Be” Shows “R&B Camaraderie”

“I wanted to keep it original and show R&B camaraderie,” Omarion tells Billboard. “I have a long history with Jhene and Chris, and the organic connection, the friendship, that we have with each other ended up on the track. I want people to know what futurists are all about: breaking the sound barrier and creating something that hasn’t been created before.”

Omarion says the DJ Mustard-produced tune not only puts people in a good mood, but also offers up shock value in its lyrics. “Aside from the catchy phrases like ‘got to eat the booty like groceries’ that Jhene says, it just feels good,” Omarion says. “That’s a wild line, but it’s a wild memorable line, and the margin of music that makes you feel something like that is small. I think that is what music is supposed to do — evoke emotion.”

“Post to Be” currently sits at No. 22 on the Billboard Hot 100.  It’s lifted from Omarion’s Sex Playlist, available now.
