Niecy Nash says she wants to “interview” the woman that ends up with her ex-husband

ABC/Lou RoccoNiecy Nash is apparently taking her break-up with husband Jay Tucker in stride.

In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Nash says she and Tucker are still on good terms after their recent split. So much so, that she admits she’s still pretty protective of her ex-husband.

“I would have to interview any girl who’s gonna be on his block,” Nash joked. “I gotta make sure he’s taken care of.”

As far as the split is concerned, Nash says, “For us, it’s easy, because we love each other. The love has just taken on a different form, but [he’s] always gonna be my friend. Always.”

The couple, who married in 2011, revealed they decided to go their separate ways last month in a joint statement on Nash’s Instagram page.

“Our truth is that in this season of our lives, we are better friends than partners in marriage,” their joint message explained. “Our union was such a gorgeous ride. And as we go our separate ways now, we feel fortunate for the love we share — present tense.”

Nash says she’s currently enjoying her life as a single woman, which includes not putting any pressure on herself to get back on the market.

“I’m just over here drinking my water and healing,” she said. “I ain’t ready to put all this back on the block. It’s too much too soon.”
