Home for the Holidays: Luke James can’t wait to enjoy his mother’s cooking on Thanksgiving

Makeda Sandford Luke James grew up in New Orleans raised by a single mother, and he can’t wait to join her for the holidays. The two-time Grammy nominee tells ABC Audio he’s looking forward to a joyous time being with family for Thanksgiving and Christmas.

“I am going to spend it all with my mom. That makes my holidays complete. Just my mom and family and friends,” James says. The singer/actor has a very special reason for being home with his mother for the holidays.

“Why, because she cooks so well and she just knows how to reach my soul with the cooking so I need it,” he says.

Luke has been “cooking” lately in the recording studio, dropping his new single, ”All of Your Love,” two weeks ago. He performed “Go Girl” with BJ the Chicago Kid and Ro James on the Soul Train Awards, and plans to release his third solo album early next year.

James is also busy as an actor, and will be returning for season three of The Chi on Showtime in 2020.
