Royal Bridges of RoyalRae Donielle Tremaine Hansley, better known as Lil Dee Dee, takes on a major role in the upcoming drama Charm City Kings.
In the film, which is based on the documentary 12 O’Clock Boys by Lotfy Nathan, Hansley plays Lamont, a teenager who, like his friends, has hopes of joining a local dirt bike crew named The Midnight Clique. Hansley tells ABC Audio that his fans have been really curious about his tough-guy character.
“Lamont. That’s what everyone wants to know about,” Hansley says. “He is the hard-head out the group. He is the bad boy. He is the hard headed one, the fighter — that’s Lamont.”
However, Hansley is quick to make clear that he’s nothing like his brooding character. In fact, the professional dancer-actor says he’s totally the opposite of Lamont.
“Me personally, I’m goofy, I’m dancing, you know, that’s just how I am,” Hansley explains.
“It’s a switch,” Hansley says, referring to how he manages to go between such different personalities. “You turn if off and you turn it on.”
Charm City Kings, executive produced by Jada Pinkett-Smith and Will Smith, also stars rapper Meek Mill, Jahi Di’Allo Winston, Teyonah Parris and William Catlett.
Charm City Kings hits select theaters on August 14 and goes nationwide on August 21.
