Jill Scott Cast in FX Pilot “Snowfall”

Photo Credit: TV One/Karen SayreJill Scott has landed a role in Snowfall, a pilot set up at FX from Boyz N the Hood director John Singleton. 

In the pilot, set during the beginning of the 1980s crack epidemic in Los Angeles, Scott will play the mother of Franklin Saint. The singer’s character, Sharon “Cissy” Saint is “frustrated in both her personal and professional lives, Cissy has sacrificed her dreams to give Franklin opportunities she never had,” according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Actress Lauren London is also attached to the pilot, which is co-written by scribe Eric Amadio.

Scott’s previous TV credits include HBO’s The No. 1 Ladies’ Detective Agency.
