Brian Killian/WireImageNeo-soul queen Erykah Badu is releasing the music video for her song, “Mayisha (So Long)” on Friday, June 24, which she also directed.
It is credited as being “poetic,” “tongue-in-cheek,” “imaginative,” and “stylish,” just like the singer herself, according to a press release.
The four-time Grammy award-winning recording artist released “Mayisha (So Long)” in collaboration with Grammy award-winning jazz pianist and producer Robert Glasper in May. The track will be featured on Glasper’s Miles Davis re-imagined album project, Everything’s Beautiful. The album debuted at number 1 on the Billboard Jazz Album chart during the week of June 18 this year.
The music video for “Mayisha (So Long)” will premiere at noon on Friday, Eastern Standard Time.
