Toni Braxton Honored with a McDonald's 365Black Achievement Award at Essence Fest

ABC/ Lou RoccoSinger Toni Braxton did not leave this year’s Essence Festival empty handed — as she was awarded with a McDonald’s 365Black Award on Friday, July 1. 

Braxton, along with NFL athlete Charles Tillman, historian Lonnie Bunch and McDonald’s owner and operator Larry Triplett, were among the honorees at the 13th annual event held in New Orleans, Louisiana. Braxton received the Lifetime Achievement award for her excellence as a singer and actress .  

The McDonald’s 365Black Awards  are awarded annually to individuals committed to making positive contributions that strengthen the African-American community. This year, the awards show was hosted by Glee actress Amber Riley and Tyler Perry’s House of Payne actor Lance Gross.  

Toni Braxton stars in the WEtv reality series, Braxton Family Values, currently in its fifth season.
