ABC/Ida Mae AstuteFormer Destiny’s Child member Michelle Williams currently is starring in a hysterical new commercial for Foot Locker. The clip features the singer with Golden State Warrior basketball player Draymond Green, who is receiving wisdom on how to stand out from retired NBA superstar Horace Grant. Williams is first mistaken for a waitress in the visual.
“I don’t work here. I’m Michelle Williams….of Destiny’s Child?” she says after Green asks if Grant would like anything. After both Green and Grant get the hint, Green asks Williams if she can introduce her to a mysterious someone, whom the audience isn’t sure of, but might surmise could be… Queen Bey.
Williams has been the butt of many jokes regarding her perceived status as the lesser Destiny Child’s member, following Beyonce and Kelly Rowland. A #PoorMichelle Twitter hashtag and Tumblr account were both created to highlight this notion.
