Chris Brown Debuts at No. 2 on Billboard 200 Chart

Image Courtesy RCA RecordsChris Brown‘s X has debuted at #2 on the Billboard 200 album chart, marking his sixth consecutive album to open in the top 10.

According to the publication, the singer’s project sold 146,000 copies in its first week, exceeding initial sales projections of 120,000 copies. Breezy’s latest set has outperformed his previous effort, 2012’s Fortune, which debuted at number one and sold 135,000 copies in its first week.

X, which includes contributions from Trey Songz, R. Kelly, and Kendrick Lamar, also sits atop the R&B Album chart.

Brown celebrated the news via Twitter, going so far to say the album has already achieved gold status for shipping 500,000 copies.

“TEAM BREEZY! The billboard consumption number for X is 495K! X is GOLD already! Thank you! I’m honored and I love y’all!” Chris wrote.
